
K. Eva Weiss is a social justice media-maker and visual anthropology doctoral candidate at Temple University. She has worked as a director in cable television, where she was awarded first place in live-to-tape directing by the National Association of Telecommunications Officers and Advisors, an executive producer and news correspondent of the award-winning Lucy Ann Lance Business Insider and the syndicated University of Michigan FanFest Tailgate show, and a screenwriter in corporate video production.
She is currently producing/co-directing the film Sadeepa Full of Light about a Sri Lankan woman's battle with Wilson's disease and immigration restrictions. She is a founding member of VAST, the Visual Anthropology Society at Temple, which holds an annual conference on the futures of visual ethnography and research.
Eva received her B.A. in English Literature, with a focus in screenwriting, from University of Michigan, where she served as research and post-production assistant to Ruth Behar on her visual ethnography Adio Kerida.
Eva’s research interests include immigration policy, liminality, life course, social justice, and traditional and new media.
